Top 5 World Problems
1. Increasing Global Population
2.Deforestation
3. Availability of Energy
4.Lack of Drinking Water
5. Climate Change
I choose this order because I think human population is very important. We have an increasing amount of humans and they are not spread out evenly either. Deforestation is getting rid of trees which mean an increase in CO2 and less oxygen. Energy is very important since we rely heavily on it. Drinking Water is becoming an issue now and several countries are dealing with a water issue. Climate change although people believe to be false is very real and is notable by an increase in natural disaster with higher devastation power.
Top 5 Solutions
1.Renewable Energy
2. Limit on Tree Cutting/Enforce Replanting
3. Stricter regulations on Manufacturing and pollution
4. Conservation of Water
5. Limit on childbirth
I choose this order by the accessibility and how realistic the solution is. Renewable energy is real and available. We just have to choose to want it. We can limit how many tree people cut down and also make it so where they have to replant just as many trees as they cut either in the same location or a different location. Stricter regulations on manufacturing and the amount of pollution released can be attained with the right government regulations. Conservation of water is tricky. We all say we conserve water but how exactly? limit on childbirth for me is unethical but doable which is why its last. I don't like the idea placing a limit but it has seemed to work for China so I mean its possible.

World's Biggest Problem
1. Availability of Energy- The Earth is Scarce and we are depleting resources at an unprecedented rate. The US relies heavily on the creation of energy through the burning of natural gas and oils. We need to shift our focus on obtaining energy through renewable resources like solar, wind, and hydroelectric to support the country.
2.Climate Change- Climatologist says that in recent years global temperatures have risen 2 degrees and are expected to rise even more in the near future. Climate affects not only people but animals and the weather as well. Stricter regulations on manufacturing and pollutions not just in the US but world wide.
3. Deforestation- Lack of restrictions is leading to mining companies quickly depleting the earth's resources and increasing the rate of deforestation especially in places like the amazon. This is not only just destroying unique species of plants and animals but is crucial to the survival of our races because plants turn the CO2 in the air into breathable oxygen. Stop cutting down trees and force companies to replant the amount of trees they cut down after the stripped away or in another location.
4.Lack of Drinking Water- We are very wasteful of water considering that fresh water only makes about 8% of the world's water. Being privileged we don't notice much how other people in the world suffer from not having clean sources of water. We can find ways to conserve water.
5.Hunger- The United States in particular is very wasteful when it comes to food. We waste a lot of food and scraps that we find don't meet our standards. Companies like Fresh food are finding ways to reduce food scraps and companies like Aramark, especially here are findings way like composting to reduce the food waste. Hunger is one of the number one problems in third world countries and an increasing problem in the United States.
6.Loss of Biodiversity- Human activity is leading to the extinction of habitats and species. Natural processes like pollination are being affected and are crucial to the human life. We need to regulate human activity more so it doesn't endanger the global environment.
7. Increasing Global Population- The global population is rapidly increasing and more people means more use of resources that are already scarce. Although I find it unethical China's limit on two children per household is a good method of attempting to reduce the population.
8. Drug Abuse- drug abuse in young teens is becoming increasing popular due to many reason from abuse, assault, peer pressure, family issues, or an urge to experience new things. Regulations and reduction of drug abuse depends on the drug in my opinion. Drugs like marijuana I believe should be legalized and will reduce the
9. Unequal Distribution of Wealth- The United States is a good example where the Unequal distribution of wealth is becoming greater and greater. 1% of the US populations owns more than 97% of the countries wealth. Without a strong middle class this can lead to an economic collapse of the country.
10. Obesity- Obesity is becoming an increasing problem. I'm a strong supporter of people feeling comfortable in their own bodies and being true to themselves. However I do believe the is a clear distinguishment of being obese which includes being healthy. You can be overweight and still be healthy. Ways to prevent this is regulate fast food companies and install healthy practices into todays youth.

Week 2 Reading Reflection
The biggest thing that stood out to me in the reading was the argument the author made explaining the differences between a small business owners and an entrepreneur. He argues that although sometimes small business owners and entrepreneurs do intertwine, they usually are different. Small business are not dominant in their market fields and "prefer a more stable and less aggressive approach"(3) while entrepreneurs "objectives are innovation, profitability and growth"(3). The hardest part for me to understand was the environmental school of thought, the financial/capital school of thought, and the displacement school of thought. When you hear the word school you think of an actual institution and at first I didn't understand the point that was trying to be made. I took of Theory of Knowledge class that talks about schools of reason and perception. those were actual institutions though. I'm curious to see as to what the author thinks the best approach to entrepreneurship is. Right away we see there is a variety of factors involved and different approaches to thinking. I would also ask the author what he thinks of the idea of privilege as being considered a factor of entrepreneurship. He talks about dynamic processes and how we can study cases, he describes where finances come in but I believe the idea of privilege is very relevant when discussing entrepreneurship. One area where I would disagree slightly is the Myth 2: Entrepreneurs are born, not made. Although I agree that someone can be shaped into becoming an entrepreneur it not the same as someone who has an innate passion and ability for it. Creativity is something that in my opinion is innate. I believe that entrepreneurship is sparked from the creativity of oneself and it's not something that can be taught.
Bug List
1. The line at Rocky's Piano Bar on Thursday Nights is extremely long
Why is it long- I've noticed the guy checking ID stops and talks to every other person for 5 minutes and holds up the line
2. The service at Steak and Shake is horrible regardless of how delicious and inexpensive the food is
Why the horrible service- I'm guessing since the food is inexpensive their isn't much incentive to work for tips
3. The long lines Chipotle on University has at nighttime
Why- I don't understand why people crave it so much.
4. New Movie releases. Usually one theatre plays the movie and the other doesn't that sometimes I go to the wrong theatre.
Why- My guess is since they are both Regal they rotate off big movie releases to make money and not compete against one another.
5. I hate that Krishna is a mandatory suggested "$5" donation or else you get shamed upon
Why- they use donation because you can't sell stuff on campus. Regardless Krishna lunch is a business whether they accept it or not and need to make money

Why- probably afraid of bike lane. can be dangerous at time but now they are risking pedestrians by using sidewalk

20. when I'm at work and people complain about the calories and get a calorie filled meal with a diet coke
why- yeah mentally the diet coke makes you feel better but in reality its just as bad.
I did find this assignment difficult. You never really know what bugs you until someone asks or it happens to you. The list is has it variety and some things bug me more than others. I find it interesting on how some have to do with mannerism and how others are business functions. This was an interesting assignment and I glad I know what bugs me now.

My Entrepreneurship Story
My mom works for this guy this. He owns two businesses the first one being Regal Electric and the second one being Safe Tech. When my mom first started working for him the business were thriving and very successful. I remember helping my mom one time and walking into the offices and seeing JD Power and Associates trophy for Best Business and Going Strong for 10years etc. Every time you saw the owner you can see the passion he put into his businesses. You could easily tell her cared more about Regal Electric than Safe Tech. He was very chill. He wore khakis and a tee shirt to work while his employees wore suits. He only wore suits when necessary. I liked that about him. There came a point where business for Regal Electric slowed down and the business struggled. Regardless he still put the same passion into all his work. Regal Electric suffered a bit and was going down under. In order to save it he sold Safe Tech which was at the top of its peak. I respect the owner for putting passion into his work but unfortunately the company ended up closing down and never recovered. I always looks back and wonder if he made the right business decision in selling Safe Tech in order to save Regal Electric. If I start a business I want to make sure I show that passion as well but I also want to make smart business decisions.
I'm taking ENT3003 because I want to become an Entrepreneur one day. I want to start a business of my own. I want to make sure I have the right mindset and and strategy to open a business. I want to make sure I know what being an entrepreneur means and see if I have what it takes.
